Join the team behind Sakana Chat 🐟, Sakana Marlin 🐬, and Sakana Fugu 🐡. As a Data Engineer (Product), you will build the data infrastructure that enables AI to autonomously analyze data and drive exponential growth. This role focuses on creating the systems that allow Sakana AI's products to extract value from data at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Data pipeline development - Design and build robust ETL/ELT pipelines that process large volumes of data
- Data warehouse architecture - Build scalable data warehouses and data lakes that support analytics and model training
- Schema design - Design efficient database schemas that support diverse use cases
- Data quality - Implement data validation, monitoring, and quality assurance processes
- Analytics infrastructure - Build systems that enable self-service analytics for product and business teams
- Integration - Connect diverse data sources and systems in a coherent data ecosystem
- Optimization - Optimize data pipelines and queries for performance and cost efficiency
- Scaling - Design systems that scale to handle exponential growth in data volume
- Collaboration - Work with product, analytics, and ML teams to understand data needs
- Monitoring - Build observability and alerting for data systems
必須スキル
- 3+ years of data engineering experience in production environments
- Strong proficiency in SQL and data warehousing concepts
- Experience with big data tools (Spark, Hadoop, or similar)
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and frameworks (Airflow, dbt, Kafka, etc.)
- Experience with cloud data platforms (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, etc.)
- Strong software engineering practices (version control, testing, documentation)
- Understanding of data modeling and OLTP vs OLAP systems
