Join Sakana AI as an Infrastructure and Platform Reliability Engineer to ensure Fugu remains fast, dependable, and cost-efficient as the platform scales from prototype to sustained production use. This role focuses on architecting and operating the core infrastructure that powers Sakana AI's research and product deployment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing scalable, reliable infrastructure that supports growing computational demands of ML research and deployed models
- Implementing cost optimization strategies to manage cloud resources and infrastructure spending efficiently
- Ensuring high availability and performance of critical systems including data pipelines, model serving infrastructure, and API services
- Monitoring, alerting, and incident response for platform stability and reliability
- Collaborating with research and product engineers to identify and resolve infrastructure bottlenecks
- Implementing Infrastructure as Code and continuous deployment practices
- Managing cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or similar) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

- Proven experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar)
- Strong background in distributed systems and understanding of reliability patterns
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Solid understanding of networking, storage, and compute optimization
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK, etc.)
