As a Corporate Development Associate at Sakana AI, you will lead capital strategy, M&A, partnerships, and IPO preparation to scale Sakana AI's business globally. This role provides the opportunity to shape the company's corporate strategy and play a key role in major strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Capital strategy - Develop and execute fundraising strategies, manage investor relations, and optimize capital structure
- M&A evaluation - Identify, evaluate, and manage potential acquisitions that accelerate Sakana AI's capabilities or market position
- Partnership development - Identify and negotiate strategic partnerships with complementary companies
- IPO preparation - Develop plans and execute initiatives to prepare the company for public markets
- Financial analysis - Conduct valuation analysis, financial modeling, and due diligence for transactions
- Business development - Explore opportunities for business expansion and market entry
- Market analysis - Monitor competitive landscape and identify strategic opportunities
- Stakeholder management - Manage relationships with investors, board members, and potential partners
- Documentation - Manage complex transaction documentation and integration planning

- Strong analytical and financial skills including facility with financial modeling
- Excellent written and verbal communication in both English and Japanese at business level
- Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Understanding of business strategy, M&A processes, and fundraising
