Join the Sakana AI Recursive Self-Improvement (RSI) Lab as a Program Manager. The RSI Lab is a dedicated research group within Sakana AI tasked with redesigning the AI development process itself with AI. As Program Manager, you will enable researchers and engineers to focus fully on research at maximum velocity by managing critical operational aspects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Budget management - Plan, track, and optimize project budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation
- Schedule management - Develop realistic timelines, track progress, and manage dependencies across research projects
- Milestone tracking - Monitor research progress against milestones and identify risks early
- External communications - Handle vendor relationships, partnerships, and external stakeholder communications
- Administrative support - Streamline processes and remove administrative blockers for the research team
- Project coordination - Facilitate cross-team collaboration between researchers and engineers
- Resource allocation - Manage computational resources, tools, and infrastructure access
必須スキル
- Experience with program or project management, preferably in research, engineering, or technology environments
- Strong financial acumen and budget management experience
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Japanese at business level
- Ability to work with highly technical teams and understand research workflows
- Demonstrated experience with risk management and problem-solving under uncertainty
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to navigate complex, ambiguous research environments
